What is your funnest board game or card game to play with one person?

Pasty Cobbett: I really enjoy playing 7 hand poker. I learned about it on the games you can play on MSN messenger. Poker isn't that hard to learn. You just have to know what 5 card hands beat each and which suit is higher than the others, and the rest is easy.Speed is also a fun card game to play with a friend. As for board games, I like Battleship and Connect 4. I like Connect 4 because it feels good to out think the other person....Show more

Buster Buchko: Two people, total, is what I mean!

Lashawnda Anteby: Go Fish, or maybe monopoly if im feeling frisky.

Samara Siewers: My favorite two player game is Travel Blokus, also called Blokus Duo. It can be found at Target and K-mart and is ridiculously easy to learn. Both players have a collection of little blocks made up of 1-5 squares. On your turn you place a block on the board and each block you place has to touch a previous piece of yours by corner but not by the edge. That makes it sound harder than it ! is, it's really easy and a lot of fun.Other great two player games include: Monopoly Deal!(card game version of Monopoly, a lot shorter and a lot more fun than Monopoly); Lost Cities(great two player card game, lots of math involved in scoring though so you have to be ready for math when playing, but it's SO GOOD); Qwirkle is great with 2 as well, it's like Scrabble but without all those pesky words; and of course there's Scrabble.I should just list some more games in list form rather than in paragraph form.Mystery Rummy, this is a series of rummy games that's quite fun. Each one has a theme of a mystery like Jack the Ripper or Chicago Mobsters/Al Capone and each player is using Rummy sets to try to solve the mystery. It sounds weird, but it works really well.CODA is great too. It's a simple deduction game that works really well with two players. Players draw tiles and have to use logic to figure out the pattern of the other players' tiles. It's hard to explain without pict! ures, but it's great. And then there's Mr. Jack, probably my fa! vorite 2 player game. It's a bit complex in that there's things like secret movement and character abilities, but it's a great game. One player is Jack The Ripper and has taken the identity of one of eight "Investigator" characters on the board. The other player is a Detective trying to figure out which character is actually Jack. Getting past that much is difficult without the game itself to reference. Ah man, now I've run out of games that I can think of. If you want to find some great two player games though check out http://www.boardgamegeek.com it's a great database/community for boardgames. All the games I've mentioned are on there. And there are even "Geeklists" of people's favorite two player games, and games that gamers play with their non-gamer spouses. It's a bit late so of course right now I can't find any of the "great two player game" lists. Sorry. But check out BGG, it's great and there are a lot of great games out there past Trivia games and Monopoly....Show! more

Jefferson Sarson: There are a number of two-player games I like. One series of two-player games comes in boxes about eight inches square by one inch thick, are generally card games, and are nearly always a lot of fun. They are made by different companies, but all carry the "Kosmos" logo. Some of the game titles are: Babel, Blue Moon, Heave Ho!, Hera & Zeus, Jambo, Lost Cities, Odin's Ravens, Starship Catan ... and the list goes on. Just look for the small square boxes in any good game store. (Any store with the word Toys in its name doesn't fall into this category.)If you like war games, you could try the Lightning series. These are card games that depict various battles that have occured in real life. If you like chess but aren't a serious player, Knightmare Chess or Tile Chess might be good titles to try. Other games that are specifically for two players are: Blink, Blokus Travel, Catan Card Game, Gobblet, Khet (aka Deflexion), Othello (aka Reversi),! Quarto and Quixo.Other games that work well with two players, but can ! include more, are: Agricola, Dominion, Goa, Jenga, Le Havre, Mille Bornes, Quorridor, Rack-O, Uno, San Juan and Thunderstone. Not all of these games are easy to play, but all are well worth the effort to learn a few more rules if needed. If you are looking for one of the easiest games in the world to play, try Fluxx. You get three cards in your hand at the start of the game. On your turn, you draw a card, then play a card. That's it. Easy, huh? There isn't even a way to win, until later, that is. Other rules come later, and certain rules may come and go while the game is in progress. But any time you need to refer to the rules, just look at the play area. They're all there, so there is no need to remember any rules at all. - LJS...Show more

Lyman Gauld: Cribbage. I can play cribbage all day long. By "with 1 player" I assume you mean one OTHER player...Otherwise klondike solitaire.
