Rolanda Merritt: The puffer ill shurley kill the tetrsa, but should be fine with the pleco. Only problom is that a pleco will bet way to big for a twenty gallon (if its a common pleco) and will take up all of the room.
Pasquale Pollet: The puffers will probably kill the other fish sooner or later.
Floyd Labuda: ya they will kill them. they should also have a teaspoon of salt for every 5 gallons in the tank, but I think they can live in complete freshwater for a while.
Ulysses Failey: These little alien-looking creatures are highly intelligent (for a fish), personable and entertaining. I have had luck with them tolerating some tough, fast-moving tank mates, only to find them missing after several months or even years. Younger puffers may seem more docile, but all will nip the fins of slower-moving or long-finned fish. I have been very successful keeping my GSPs with their own kind. I suggest keeping GSPs in low-end brackish water when juvenile 4â³ SW (SG! 1.018-22)...Show more
Cornelius Thornborrow: This is not a good idea. The GSP's do their best in brackish water whereas most tetras come from soft slightly acid water. So your first problem is the water conditions are completely different. Secondly, the puffers are aggressive and very territorial, so they probably would make quick work of the tetras.
Ardelia Liptow: No. Puffers have a wolf pack mentality. They will slowly pick the tetras apart.
