American horror movies vs asian horror movies?

Tatiana Evanosky: I would say Asian because at least sometimes asian horror movies are smarter or have better characters also no overeliance on shakey cam movies like Quarantine , The Devil inside, paranomral activity.

Janeen Perona: American horror movies is paramormal activity and something ghost relatedAsian movies are creepy (scary)My question to youWhat culture made Exorcist movies ? Those movies creep me out and once scared me

Troy Staton: Asian Horror movies are normally better because the American Horror movies are usually remakes of the Japanese original movies (examples such as 1 missed call, the ring, the grudge, etc). The Japanese Horror movies usually have an entity that cannot be killed, which is why they're scary to watch (Ju-On, Ringu, etc). Notice how some of the horror movies that come out in America might be a bit lamer than some that come out in Japan (using The Woman in Black is a cheap shot because that one was pretty scary, but it was ! short term scary). Japanese films give you a sense of long term scary which normally doesn't go away after an hour or 2, I remember watching Ju-on and having a rough time getting out of bed since it was 6:00 AM and I was scared, whereas when I watched Insidious, that feeling I got was only short term and I slept it off. It really depends on the director and how well of a job they did on the film. I will admit that some Japanese Horror films can be lame at times, but most are good....Show more
