Debora Rinderer: I got mine when I was 12 but in today's world they are almost necessary. My sister is getting her's this christmas and she will be 10 years old. You could always start with a pre-pay phone, t-mobile has some good ones.
Ira Porietis: I was 13 or 14 when I got my first cell phone. If you can't pay for it, ask your mom how can you earn the cell phone. Mention that you are responsible enough and have good grades in such. Maybe ask her to give you a chance with a cell phone and prove that you are responsible.
